UPDATED: Coronavirus – Swimming Shutdown
We want to update you on the latest situation regarding Coronavirus and our swimming schedule.
In line with the updated guidance from Swim England on 17th March, the Committee has taken the very difficult decision to suspend all training sessions with immediate effect until at least the end of May. The advice from Swim England also notes that any open meets during this period should be cancelled and so our Meets team will be in contact with anyone who has entered upcoming meets once we have heard from the relevant organisers.
Obviously we are all in uncharted territory and none of us wants to be in this position. We don’t know what will happen post the end of May but we will follow the guidance of Swim England and the Government when we get nearer that date and update you all accordingly.
We do want to make clear that Harpenden Swimming Club still goes on during these difficult times and so we will be communicating regularly as to any updates or useful information we can share so that we all stay connected. We are looking at ways to keep our swimmers fit, healthy and engaged during this period and so hope to be able to share some useful advice from our coaching team on how to do so shortly. Please stay tuned for these updates..
Feel free to reach out with any questions or thoughts you may have on how to keep the club and its swimmers connected during this period. We hope you and your families stay safe in these unprecedented times.
